Blue Steel

This renovation addresses the unique spatial challenges of an Altbau kitchen and bathroom in Berlin. The kitchen had a narrow layout with a single window positioned in an unusual corner. To optimize natural light, a low bench was installed beneath the window, and the primary kitchen cabinetry runs along one side of the room. The cabinetry combines a wooden base with a stainless steel finish, while the bright blue bench introduces a contrasting accent. During the renovation, the removal of tiles revealed original Berlin parquet flooring, which was restored.

In the bathroom, the absence of a window was addressed by integrating a recessed lighting panel designed to mimic natural light, with adjustable brightness and color. The bathroom surfaces are finished in continuous microcement, creating a uniform texture, with built-in niches providing discreet storage.
